Canada Student Visa Procedures

Step 1: Gather documents and submit an application for a Canada student visa.

Students must first gather all of the required papers and apply to their local Canadian visa application center or the IRCC in Canada if they are already in the country.

Step 2: Get an introduction letter

Applicants will get a Letter of Introduction (LOI) confirming approval if the application procedures are successful. Please keep in mind that this letter does not constitute study permission. In addition, if their national circumstances require it, certain applicants will obtain an electronic travel authorization (eTA) or a temporary residence visa (TRV). The eTA is included in the letter of intent and is connected to the passport that was used to apply for the visa. The TRV is immediately pasted into the passport.

Step 3: Visit Canada.

The applicant makes travel plans to Canada with the aforementioned goods, as required by the applicant's nationality. They produce the LOI and/or their eTA/TRV to an immigration official for confirmation when they arrive at the border. The student is subsequently given the study permission.

Fees and Processing Time to study in Canada.

In these challenging times of COVID-19, the Canadian government advises Canada study permit applicants to give themselves at least 9 weeks to finish their applications. This period does not include the time it takes to send the application or provide biometrics.

The cost of the Canada study permit is CA$150 per person. If biometrics is necessary, they will cost an extra CA$85.
